LONDON — Pole vault silver medalist Jenn Suhr wasn’t quite sure she’d ever clear the looming club which was her nemesis.
Elena Isinbaeva, all things considered, had owned the women’s pole vault as though it had been personal home. The Russian won two Olympic silver medals, five globe championship games and it is the outside globe record-holder at 16 foot 7 ins.
Suhr, 30, had been the silver medalist in Beijing four years back. And in all honesty, most figured the most effective she could do Monday was play the bridesmaid to Isinbaeva once more.
But spouse and advisor Rick Suhr had a feeling that is good.
“You’re planning to win this, ” he told the vaulter.
